The Astatic D-104 Microphone is a highly developed general purpose microphone ruggedly constructed having excellent frequency response. The D104 can not be overloaded acoustically. No carbon rush or internal noise. Chrome Plated, 3 inch diameter head is 1 inch thick. Uses 9 volt battery. Also notice the D104 Handheld microphone called the Astatic M6B..

The D-104 Mic is not just for cb radio. The D104 has always been a great standard in many forms of radio including ham amateur radio, cb radio and even commercial broadcasting. Astatic Microphone Laboratory was found in 1933 by two Amateur Radio Operators. The D104 Mic first sold for a little more than seven dollars. The D104 Microphone first earned it's reputation and popularity on AM Amateur Radio. Being a great mic for AM broadcasting, the D-104 Mic was also perfect for cb radio base station operation. Over seventy years later the Astatic D104 still sets the standard as a excellent general purpose base station "power mic".
